Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation Review!

After hearing so many good reviews on this foundation, I HAD to go pick up a bottle. This is ONLY available at Sephora.
I went in last night to get color matched which did however turn into a 30 minute process.. Sephora uses a device called "Pantone + Color IQ" to match you. It is the first and only device to scan the surface of your skin matching you to your perfect foundation shade. I removed my foundation, the artist applied a moisturizer designed to tone down redness, scanned 3 places on my face, and voilĂ ! Took me right over to a screen that shows my matches. Well, low and behold, nothing happened to pop up in Kat Von D Lock It Foundation for me.
So the quest began with swatches. I ended up with a PERFECT match with the shade "Light 46". If you happen to be in the shade "Fairly Light" in Bare Minerals, this is a dead on match. I can also say that I am in between shades in Revlon Colorstay- 150 Buff is too light and 180 Sand Beige is too dark.

On to the review!

Packaging- Love it!!! Plastic bottle with a PUMP! Yay! The actual design on the bottle itself is gorgeous. A+ in my book.

Price- $34.00 for 1 fluid ounce. I know, I know, it is a little steep. However, this stuff is full coverage and thick so bear in mind a tiny bit goes a loooong way and will last at least 2-3 months for me.

Where to get it-  This is exclusively at Sephora. Online and in store.

Coverage- Full. I'm sure you could sheer this out a bit with a damp beauty blender if desired and a small amount. I have lots of freckles, redness and uneven skin tone. As soon as the SA started to apply I felt a spotlight come over me and magical music as I watched it cover EVERYTHING. Hallelujah! Holy Grail found people!

Formula- It is thick! To be expected with full coverage. A pump on my hand will not move. Much thicker than Revlon Colorstay. Package states that it is " Oil Free" as well as 24 hour wear, transfer resistant, matte finish, fragrance free and for ALL skin types.

Application- Goes on flawless! A dream to apply and blend. This doesn't dry ridiculously quick either. I used my Sigma F80.

Staying Power- 10 + hours and still looking fab! I'm combo/oily and my t-zone and cheeks are the worst! Didn't blot or powder throughout the day to get an idea about oil control and it still looked great. A little bit of a "glow" but it didn't by any means look shiny.

Finish- Packaging states Matte, I beg to differ. I'd say demi matte. It gives your skin a beautiful glow and actually looks like skin. You would imagine full coverage = heavy face. Nope! Not at all. It feels nice, very smooth, not heavy and cakey at all. It actually looks like skin and not a coat of foundation.

As for those with dry skin who think eeek! as soon as matte is heard, don't despair. I have some dry spots as well and so long as you exfoliate and moisturize prior to application, it shouldn't be a problem..

A+++ for this foundation!

Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Combination/Oily Review!

Revlon Colorstay foundation is raved about everywhere and for good reason! Lets get into the review:

Available in two different formulas- Normal/Dry, and Combination Oily skin.
You can get this at most retailers such as drugstores, Target, and Walmart. I picked mine up from Target for around $9.49. It is available in 20 shades, I am in 180 sand beige for combo/oily skin. I don't notice any greasiness at all which is a miracle with me due to my super oily skin.
It is a medium to full coverage foundation, but does not feel heavy! I have redness, dark circles, uneven skin tone and freckles- it covers every bit with no problem for a flawless, smooth finish.

This foundation does have a matte finish- Perfect for us oily skinned gals!
If you are looking for sunscreen coverage I would definitely apply that first, as this has an SPF of only 6. It claims to have 24 hour staying power and won't budge, ( I won't be testing that theory, yuck!) I doubt I can argue with that.

I have gone for 10+ hours wearing this foundation without a primer and no touch up needed- still flawless. I do wish it was unscented, (or have a better fragrance for that matter), it tends to have a paint like scent but it does however fade after drying.

When applying, I don't suggest dotting all over the face and then blending, it does dry rather quickly so blend, blend, blend!
If your looking for medium coverage, buff into the skin in circular motions. Looking for full coverage? Stippling is your best technique. This foundation applies flawlessly when buffing it into the skin with a Sigma F80! :)
I do not notice it settling into my fine lines and pores even without primer which is awesome because I do have enlarged pores around my nose/cheek areas.

 Pros
• Affordable- Average $9-$12
• Long wearing
• Medium to buildable for full coverage
• Comparable to Mac Studio Fix Fluid
• Comes in two formulas for your perfect fit
• Lightweight
• Easy to blend
• Available in 20 shades
• Does not oxidize

 Cons
• Paint like scent
• No pump :(
• Dries fairly quick.

I can't say I have too much to complain about considering it is a drugstore foundation. I love it  and have been a loyal user for over 3 years. The coverage and price makes up for the few flaws found.  It is definitely worth the $10 bucks and lasts me for 2+ months. A little goes a long way!
Next time you find yourself roaming the makeup aisle I definitely recommend picking up a bottle and trying it out for yourself. You won't be dissappointed!

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer Review in Fair

I have heard nothing but great things about this concealer, so I had to pick it up! I got mine at Walmart for around $7.97.
I got it in the color Fair, which actually isn't too light for me like I was thinking it would be! Perfect color for highlighting my face.
This concealer comes in 6 shades:
110- Fair
120- Light
130- Medium
140- Honey
150- Neutralizer
160- Brightener

Not a wide variety of shades, unfortunately. It is a great concealer and adding more shades for darker skin tones would be great.

Size- 0.2 fl oz

  • Micro-corrector applicator
  • Super concentrated formula
  • With goji berry + Haloxyl

The applicator has been iffy in most minds, I however see it being fine and completely sanitary when using only on yourself and of course, a clean face to start with. If you decide not to use the applicator tip you can always apply to the finger first.

First thoughts:
Creamy, easy to apply and blend, not cakey at all.
I actually love applicator tip- very soft and no tugging!

Coverage: I'd say this is a medium to full coverage formula. I have alot of redness and dark circles around the eye area as most do, this does do the job!

It does settle pretty quickly. I applied to both eyes and after finishing the other, it had already settled down into my fine lines and creased! :(
You will definitely want to set this with powder!

Pros:
• Medium to full coverage
• Creamy and easy to blend formula
• Twist top so you can control how much product is dispensed

Cons:
• Settles in to fine lines if not set with powder.

All in all, this is a great concealer. The consistency is nice, the coverage is great and cute packaging.
I would definitely recommend trying it out for yourself!
